AI - Artificial Intelligence

AI is a broad term that refers to systems or machines that mimic human intelligence. It can be applied to a wide range of areas, including learning, reasoning, and perception. AI is used to improve efficiency, productivity, and performance in many industries. AI is being used in many industries, including healthcare, education, finance, manufacturing, and transportation.

What is AI?

Artificial intelligence (AI) is the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines, especially computer systems. These processes include learning (the acquisition of information and rules for using the information), reasoning (using rules to reach approximate or definite conclusions) and self-correction. Particular applications of AI include expert systems, speech recognition and machine vision.

What is Machine Learning?

Machine learning is an application of artificial intelligence (AI) that provides systems the ability to automatically learn and improve from experience without being explicitly programmed. Machine learning focuses on the development of computer programs that can access data and use it to learn for themselves.

What is Deep Learning?

Deep learning is a subset of machine learning in artificial intelligence (AI) that has networks capable of learning unsupervised from data that is unstructured or unlabeled. Also known as deep neural learning or deep neural network.

What is a Neural Network?

A neural network is a series of algorithms that endeavors to recognize underlying relationships in a set of data through a process that mimics the way the human brain operates. In this sense, neural networks refer to systems of neurons, either organic or artificial in nature.

What is Generative AI?

Generative AI is one of the biggest recent advancements in artificial intelligence technology because of its ability to create something new. It opens the door to an entire world of possibilities for human and computer creativity, with practical applications emerging across industries, from turning sketches into images for accelerated product development, to improving computer-aided design of complex objects. It takes two neural networks against each other to produce new and original digital works based on sample inputs.

What is ChatGPT?

ChatGPT stands for Generative Pre-trained Transformer. It is a large-scale transformer-based language model with 1.5 billion parameters, trained on a dataset of 8 million web pages. It outperforms other language models trained on similarly sized corpora on a variety of tasks, yielding state-of-the-art results on many benchmarking tasks, including SuperGLUE, WebText2, WikiText-103, and others.

What is a Chatbot?

A chatbot is a computer program that simulates human conversation through voice commands or text chats or both. Chatbot, short for chatterbot, is an artificial intelligence (AI) feature that can be embedded and used through any major messaging applications.

What are the types of AI?

There are four types of artificial intelligence: reactive machines, limited memory, theory of mind and self-awareness.

What is the difference between AI and ML?

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the broader concept of machines being able to carry out tasks in a way that we would consider “smart”. Machine Learning (ML) is a current application of AI based around the idea that we should really just be able to give machines access to data and let them learn for themselves.

LLM - Large Language Model

Large language models (LLMs) are a class of neural network-based models that have recently achieved state-of-the-art performance on a variety of natural language processing (NLP) tasks. LLMs are trained on large datasets, such as the Common Crawl dataset, which contains billions of words.

How does AI work?

AI works by combining large amounts of data with fast, iterative processing and intelligent algorithms, allowing the software to learn automatically from patterns or features in the data. AI is a broad field of study that includes many theories, methods and technologies, as well as the following major subfields:

  • Machine learning automates analytical model building. It uses methods from neural networks, statistics, operations research and physics to find hidden insights in data without explicitly being programmed for where to look or what to conclude.
  • A neural network is a type of machine learning that is made up of interconnected units (like neurons) that processes information by responding to external inputs, relaying information between each unit. The process requires multiple passes at the data to find connections and derive meaning from undefined data.
  • Deep learning uses huge neural networks with many layers of processing units, taking advantage of advances in computing power and improved training techniques to learn complex patterns in large amounts of data. Common applications include image and speech recognition.

Relation between AI and LLM

AI, or Artificial Intelligence, is a broad field that encompasses many different technologies and methods, one of which is LLMs, or Large Language Models.

Large Language Models, like GPT-3 or GPT-4, are a type of AI that have been trained on a diverse range of internet text. They can generate human-like text based on the input they’re given.

The relation between AI and LLMs is that LLMs are a subset of AI, specifically in the field of Natural Language Processing (NLP). They are used to understand, generate, and do other operations with human language in a way that is expected to be indistinguishable from a human.

In summary, LLMs are a type of AI model used for processing and generating human language.

  1. GPT-3 (Generative Pretrained Transformer 3): Developed by OpenAI, GPT-3 is a state-of-the-art autoregressive language model that uses deep learning to produce human-like text. It’s the third iteration of the GPT series and has 175 billion machine learning parameters.

  2. Bing Chat: Bing Chat is a conversational model developed by Microsoft. It’s designed to provide detailed responses to user queries in a conversational manner, and it’s used in Microsoft’s Bing search engine to interact with users.

  3. Bard: Bard is a language model developed by OpenAI. It’s designed to generate creative and engaging stories based on user prompts, making it particularly useful for tasks like creative writing and storytelling.

  4. GPT-4: GPT-4 is a language model developed by OpenAI. It’s designed to generate human-like text based on the input it’s given, and it’s the fourth iteration of the GPT series.
